Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you wanted to know about our yoga classes - answered.

I am a complete beginner. Can I still join a yoga class?

Absolutely. Most of our students start as beginners. Each session is adapted to your level - you do not need any prior experience, flexibility, or fitness level to begin.

Your first trial class is completely free, and we use it to understand your body, breathing pattern, and personal goals before building a customised plan for you. Whether you can touch your toes or not is irrelevant - what matters is showing up with an open mind.

What should I wear and bring to a yoga session?

Wear comfortable, stretchable clothing such as a cotton t-shirt with track pants, leggings, or yoga pants. Avoid tight jeans, belts, or restrictive fabrics. Bare feet are recommended.

Please keep ready:

  • A non-slip yoga mat (we can recommend one if you don't have one yet)
  • A small hand towel
  • A water bottle
  • An empty stomach - try not to eat 2 hours before practice

For in-home classes, a quiet space of around 6x6 feet is enough. For online sessions, position your camera so the instructor can see your whole body.

How often should I practice yoga to see results?

For visible physical and mental change, we recommend 4-5 sessions per week. Our monthly package includes 20 sessions for exactly this reason - consistency is the key to transformation.

Typical timeline for new students:

  • Week 1-2: Better sleep, calmer mind, mild flexibility gains
  • Week 3-4: Noticeable strength, posture improvement, reduced minor aches
  • Week 6-8: Sustainable weight management, deeper stretches, improved focus
  • 3+ months: Profound shifts in mood, energy, and overall well-being
Is yoga safe if I have a medical condition or injury?

Yes - yoga can be modified for almost any health condition, including back pain, knee issues, diabetes, hypertension, arthritis, thyroid disorders, post-surgery recovery, and more.

However, please:

  • Consult your doctor before starting if you have a serious condition.
  • Inform your instructor in detail before the first session.
  • Stop and notify the instructor if you feel pain, dizziness, or unusual discomfort.

As a certified Clinical Yoga Therapist, we are trained to design therapeutic sequences that avoid contraindicated poses and target relief safely.

Can I do yoga during pregnancy?

Yes, with the right guidance. We offer dedicated prenatal yoga programmes for expecting mothers - safe and beneficial through the second and third trimesters (subject to your gynaecologist's approval).

Prenatal yoga focuses on:

  • Gentle stretching for the lower back and hips
  • Breath training (pranayama) for labour preparation
  • Pelvic floor strength
  • Reducing pregnancy-related fatigue, nausea, and anxiety

We are certified in prenatal yoga and will modify each posture according to your trimester.

What is the difference between Hatha and Vinyasa yoga?

Hatha yoga focuses on holding postures (asanas) for longer durations with a slower pace. It is the foundation of physical yoga and is excellent for beginners building strength, alignment, and inner calm. Each pose is held with conscious breath.

Vinyasa yoga links breath with continuous movement, creating a flowing sequence of postures. It is more dynamic, builds cardiovascular stamina and warmth, and is ideal once foundations are strong.

We typically begin students with Hatha and gradually introduce Vinyasa as the body becomes ready. Both share the same goal: unity of body, breath, and mind.

How do online yoga classes work? Will the instructor correct my posture?

Online classes are conducted live over Zoom or Google Meet - not pre-recorded videos. You join from your laptop, tablet, or smartphone, and the instructor watches you practise in real time.

To get the most from an online class:

  • Place your device so the instructor can see your whole body (not just your face).
  • Use a good internet connection - 4G or stable Wi-Fi works.
  • Keep speakers loud enough to hear breath cues.

Verbal corrections are given as the instructor observes you, exactly like an in-person session. Session recordings are available on request if you miss a class.

What is the cancellation and refund policy?

We aim to be flexible. Here is a quick summary - full details are in our Terms & Conditions:

  • Free trial class: No charge, no obligation.
  • Class rescheduling: Please inform us at least 4 hours in advance.
  • Monthly fees: Generally non-refundable once the month begins. Pro-rata credits may be offered for genuine medical emergencies or relocation cases at our discretion.
  • Instructor cancellation: If we cancel a confirmed session, you will receive a free make-up session or equivalent credit.
